Yin-Hui Hong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance at University of Taipei, Taiwan. She primarily teaches courses on Dance Therapy, Somatics for Dance Education, Embodiment Narrative therapy for both graduates and undergraduates. Dr. Hong received her Doctorate of Guidance and Counseling from National Chi Nan University Taiwan; MA in Dance Education from University of Taipei, Taipei, Taiwan.
In September 2015, YinHui left Taiwan to University of New Hampshire for one year as a visiting scholar working with Professor Sheila McNamee at Department of Communication.

YinHui was an assistant professor in Department of Performing Art of Taipei College of Maritime Technology; in the meantime, she also was a Director of Centre on Student Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center in Taipei College of Maritime Technology; She used to be a professional dancer, a fly attendant, an occupational therapist, a dance therapist, a counselor, a supervisor and a lecture. She had worked at psychiatric hospital for 14 years. She loves dance, art, travel and people, so she brings the dance, performing arts and narrative therapy into her work as an occupational therapist. In her work history YinHui not only works with people who get different diagnosis but also grows up with the psychiatry hospital development process in Taiwan.
YinHui resigned her stable job at a hospital a few years ago, as a freelancer she was dedicated to the community work. She is invited by non-profit organizations to arrange the different workshops of post-modern narrative therapy, solution of focus, dance therapy for social workers, counselors, probation officer and school teachers.
Also she worked for court and drug addiction treatment center of Taiwan government.
She realized usage of the concept of social construction and relational responsibility to integrate Somatics, dance and arts is the possibility to explore and create people’s new experiences and open a new landscape for all of people facing to challenge in their life path.
